Chicagoland History Instructors is a growing collection of free Chicagoland-focused,
ACT-style reading materials designed for secondary classrooms.
Built with the needs of history and literature teachers in mind, CHI offers structured passages and questions that emphasize critical reading, evidence-based thinking, and real-world context, without requiring full curriculum adoption.

Modular, themed sets of ACT-style reading passages and questions designed for flexible classroom use. Each lesson includes a Student Edition for daily reading practice and a Teacher Edition with instructional supports such as discussion prompts, bell ringers, and supplemental resources. Materials can be used individually to target specific skills or combined to build a full course.

Downloadable field trip itineraries designed for independent use. Each plan includes transportation guidance (bus routes and parking), walking directions, digital landmark maps, suggested museum stops, and meal options. These resources can be followed as written or adapted—no booking, coordination, or external planning required.

A curated directory featuring local speakers, historians, and organizations offering classroom visits. Designed to help teachers quickly find relevant, high-quality guest speakers connected to Chicagoland history and related fields.
