ABOUT
✶Chicagoland History Instructors (CHI) develops free educational resources that help students explore the history, geography, environment, and communities of the Chicagoland region. Designed for secondary classrooms, CHI combines ACT- and SAT-aligned reading passages, AVID-aligned activities, local case studies, and flexible instructional materials that can be used as individual lessons, thematic units, or a complete curriculum sequence.
Curriculum (Coming Summer 2026)
✶CHI develops modular educational resources that help students explore the history, geography, environment, and communities of the Chicagoland region. Free Student Editions include ACT- and SAT-aligned reading passages and question sets. Teacher Editions, available upon request, include AVID-aligned activities, WICOR-based instructional strategies, assessments, discussion prompts, and additional classroom resources. Lessons may be used independently, combined into larger units, or selected from alternative module and lesson pathways, allowing teachers and schools to adapt content to local interests, instructional goals, and available class time.
Field Trip Itineraries (coming soon)
✶Downloadable field trip guides designed for independent use. Each guide includes transportation information, walking routes, digital maps, suggested destinations, and meal options. Resources can be followed as written or adapted to meet local needs.
